The Fresno Interfaith Climate Alliance was in planning for a year before their big kick-off on April 15, 2023. The Alliance is strong with houses of worship and faith leaders committed to climate action in the Fresno/Central Valley Region.
Their kick-off was a hit! The Inaugural Interfaith Climate Summit included keynote speaker Ron Goode, a North Fork Mono Tribal Chairman, who was featured in a PBS documentary on indigenous, spiritually-based forest management. Goode and other local and state leaders offered workshops in support of faith-based individual and group climate action. Student and young adult activists from Fresno Pacific University and Fresno State helped to coordinate the event and ensured it ran smoothly.
