Introducing CIPL’s new Southern California Director

February 20, 2024 by Gregory Stevens

We are thrilled to announce that Bekah Estrada has joined our team as CIPL’s new Southern California Director!

Bekah comes to us from the University of Southern California where she served as Director of Christian Life, and pioneered a new role as the first Eco-Chaplain for USC. She received her Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, and is based in Pasadena.

“Faith communities have so much to offer when addressing the climate crisis,” said Bekah. “I am excited to work with CIPL congregations as we inspire change and meet the ecological needs in our neighborhoods.”

Bekah is passionate about utilizing her agricultural background and theological education to spark interfaith initiatives around spiritual practices, community building, and climate change. Her latest ecological project was designing an interfaith pilgrimage along the Los Angeles River.

Growing up on a farm in Earth, Texas, Bekah’s favorite summer activity was canning corn with her family. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, gardening, listening to music or podcasts, and grabbing coffee with friends. You can hear more of Bekah’s story in the mini-documentary “Bekah, from Earth”.

She can be reached at bekah@www2.interfaithpower.net
