Guest Post: COP29 Faith Pavilion – Many Faces, Many Voices by Amy Quirk

November 20, 2024 by Gregory Stevens

Many Faces

From Peru and the Hopi Nation

From the Philippines

From South Sudan

From Ireland

From Pakistan and other parts of the world.

Many Voices

These voices are ready to speak directly to you.  Please watch and listen on your own or in community for a group discussion after a screening.  Faith Pavilion sessions are recorded and accessible here.

The Faith Pavilion, under the banner of “Bringing Faith to the Climate Frontlines,” is at the intersection of faith, justice and environmental stewardship.

The Pavilion is a hub uniting “faith leaders, scholars, activists, and policymakers to inspire holistic and just climate action.  It seeks to bridge the moral and ecological imperatives of our time, catalyzing ambitious, compassionate, and effective responses to the climate crisis.”

The Pavilion schedule is an abundant gateway:

  • To moving testimony about  environmental emergencies;
  • To candid discussions about what is helpful and what is not;
  • To a deeper understanding of the importance of local determination and  support of local first responders;
  • To an update about the Loss and Damage Fund; and
  • To much more for people of faith searching for ways to seriously address climate change.

Here is the schedule: The session recordings are available here as well.

Many thanks to the organizations participating in the Faith Pavilion.  The names fill an entire wall:

(The wall has a shadow, but the extensive support is still evident)
