  "Plastic Wars: Film and Discussion"

  This NPR/Frontline documentary shows how the plastics industry used recycling to help sell more plastic. The problem is that the recycling plan was never on a solid foundation—only about 9% is now recycled. Some ends up in parts of the ocean which have 40 times more plastic than plankton, and enters our food chain when it is ingested by fish.

  After the screening, Amy Hammes, the Recycling Specialist at the Burbank Recycling Center, will lead a discussion and Q&A session.
