New Year, New Opportunities
The end of 2018 brought sobering climate news as well as hopeful signs. As we enter fully into 2019, we recognize the need to double-down on efforts for a cleaner and healthier planet and local communities. CIPL, its member congregations, and multiple organizational partners are responding to the challenge. We invite you to become part of this action! Here’s a sampling of our 2019 priorities and efforts:
- Continuing efforts with our Working Groups through event coordination and support; education; and formation of new groups
- On-going support of the Watts Clean Energy Committee, dedicated to greening Watts and surrounding areas through a variety of ways
- Dedication to our end-of-year fundraiser priorities, including advancing our state to cleaner transportation, enabling significant investments in local renewable energy, and advancing climate resilience.
Our December Volunteer Celebration in San Francisco highlighted the amazing strength, diversity, and dedication of our climate advocates. As we recognize our current sober situation, we are heartened by the perseverance and growing momentum of all of us who are working for a healthier planet.
