CIPL promotes congregational fundraising
programs through light bulb sales. This 'compact fluorescent light bulb program' may also provide energy conservation and environmental
stewardship educational opportunities for use with your members.
In addition, we have links below to the rebates and incentives
currently being offered by utility companies in California,
a Solar Financing Guide to help your congregation learn
about solar energy, and a carbon calculator made exclusively for congregations to help you get started!
CIPL member congregations can shop online for discounts on lightbulbs and other Energy Saving appliances. Please visit Interfaith Power and Light's ShopIPL site to order and don't forget to call us for your membership discount code!
Utility companies offer rebates and incentives (congregations are usually categorized as small businesses) for energy efficiency improvements such as installing compact fluorescent light bulbs, lighting sensors, new appliances or solar panels. Many also offer free energy audits to congregations. Most utilities also offer low-income energy assistance; please contact them for specific program details. Some cities are also offering energy efficiency rebate programs that are usually available to congregations. Please click here to explore the programs that are currently available in your area.
